Description:
This skin refining treatment is designed to promote the rapid release of dry, dead skin cells that cause a poor surface texture and dull complexion color. This treatment also stimulates the production of new skin cells and helps to eliminate pore-trapped debris.

Ideal client for this procedure:
Those with dry, flaky, coarse or mature skin in need of texture improvements. Also ideal for correcting some of the effects of sun damage. Glycolic exfoliation is also helpful for those under acne care as the thinner stratum corneum permits an increased penetration of other topical agents and helps keep pores clear. Stimulates new cell production.

Contraindications:
The glycolic facial procedure is not suitable for clients who are excessively exposed to direct sunlight regardless of SPF use. The use of retinoid products may make glycolic applications redundant. Do not use on irritated, sensitive skin, sunburned skin, or open lesions. Not recommended for clients with a highly active acne condition or acne rosacea, or known sensitivity to glycolic acid. Client must be using a glycolic homecare product for at least two weeks before having a professional strength glycolic peel. As with all professional strength peels, a patch test to determine sensitivity should be performed.

The use of retinoid products may make lactic applications redundant or may lead to over exfoliation. Do not use on irritated or sensitive skin, sunburned skin, or open lesions. Not recommended for clients with an aggressive or highly active acne condition or acne rosacea, or known sensitivity to lactic acid or salicylic acid. Client must be using an AHA homecare product for at least two weeks before having a professional strength lactic peel and a patch test to determine sensitivity should be performed.
